Meet Aubrey. That's what her name means, a noble elf. We adopted her on Saturday from our local SPCA. I have to admit she isn't what I was envisioning when I thought about getting a little dog but I couldn't be happier. She was a stray so we don't know anything about her, the vet estimated 3 years old and we think she's a Corgi/Jack Russell mix of some kind, less than 10 pounds. She is playful and calm in appropriate doses at the appropriate times, housebroken, confident, doesn't shed, knows her basic commands, is extremely friendly and cute as hell. None of these pictures really do her justice, I'll continue to try to capture her personality with my lens. I brought her to work with me yesterday and she was the perfect office dog. Much more on this little lady to come.

The great thing is that she really does seem thankful. She's made herself right at home, even sleeping through the night on our bed (we've always let the dogs on the bed with us). I'm in San Diego for a work conference until Friday and I am missing my little elf!

Now, that's a happy face. She's very lucky and, no doubt, her personality will continue to emerge as she feels more & more at home.
