Silent Sunday

At its finest, rider and horse are joined not by tack, but by trust. Each is totally reliant upon the other. Each is the selfless guardian of the other's very well-being.

Wow, that's a lot of bridles. As a tack junky, that's pretty impressive.

I'll drink to that.

I often think about trust and horses. For a horse to trust us we need to prove ourselves reliable. And if we aren't reliable they still sometimes forgive us.

Mikhael, this is the main office at my barn, below the bridles are the show tack trunks. I love hanging out in there.

Molly, I chose this quote because I think that without trust you can't even get on a horse. Missy is scared of everything but she knows that if I'm asking her to do something or go somewhere, even if she is scared, she will do it. I am so humbled by that.

Such a nice quote. I really like that and am in total agreement. I also love what Molly said...so true. I too, am humbled on many occasions by just how far our horse's trust will go. If we could trust by even half, we would be opening ourselves to many wonderful possibilities. So nice to meet you, and congratulations on your beautiful mare. It's never too late to begin an equine relationship! Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I hope you'll come back often.

So true. I haven't ridden for a couple of months and it will be a couple more before I do again. I'm starting to get twitchy....
